DIGITAL UX DESIGNER

Remote (PST is preferred) / Contract (40 hours/week, 6 months) 

The role

We're looking for a UX Designer to support our client's digital design team as they evolve their commerce website. This role is focused on helping build out their site’s kit of parts within the design system. You’ll work closely with their team of designers and developers to ensure consistency, scalability, and a best-in-class user experience across digital touchpoints. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in systems thinking, loves clean UI, and has a strong grasp of component-based design.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Collaborate with the UX and visual design team to expand and refine our existing design system
• Help create and document scalable components and patterns that support commerce use cases
• Apply atomic design principles to structure a reusable and flexible site kit
• Ensure consistency across responsive breakpoints and accessibility best practices
• Partner with developers and product stakeholders to ensure successful handoffs and design intent is maintained
• Contribute to documentation that enables future team members to adopt and extend the system easily
• Participate in reviews, critique sessions, and iterative refinement based on team and stakeholder feedback

About you

• A strong portfolio that demonstrates systems thinking, component-driven design, and polished execution
• 5+ years of UX and UI design experience, ideally in a brand or agency setting with digital product or commerce work
• Expertise in Figma, including component libraries, auto layout, prototyping, and documentation
• Familiarity with atomic design methodology and scaling design systems
• Ability to distill complex ideas and clearly communicate rationale to cross-functional teams
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environments
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a desire to make design better for everyone
